Overview

Located within the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, Al Maha is an architectural homage to the Bedouin way of life. The resort consists of individual suites designed to resemble traditional nomadic tents, featuring reinforced canvas roofs and handcrafted furnishings. Completed in 1999, it was one of the first major eco-tourism projects in the UAE, designed to coexist with the reintroduction of the Arabian Oryx. The architecture is low-impact and earth-toned, allowing the structures to disappear into the rolling red dunes of the desert, serving as a quiet sanctuary that preserves the pre-modern soul of the Arabian Peninsula.
