Overview
Angama Mara (meaning "Suspended in Mid-Air") is situated on the very edge of the Oloololo Escarpment, 300 meters above the Maasai Mara floor. The lodge occupies the exact location where some of the most famous scenes from the film Out of Africa were shot. The architecture is inspired by a traditional Maasai "Manyatta," featuring canvas-and-glass tents that offer unobstructed views of the Great Migration below. It is a masterpiece of site-specific design, focused entirely on the drama of the horizon and the timeless, soaring spirit of the Kenyan landscape.
