Overview

Designed by the maximalist architect Bill Bensley, Capella Ubud is a whimsical tribute to the early European settlers of the 1800s. Nestled in the Keliki Valley, the "camp" was constructed without cutting a single tree, using a series of suspension bridges and stilts to navigate the steep jungle terrain. The 22 luxury tents are styled as an explorer’s retreat, filled with antiques, hand-painted fabrics, and copper outdoor baths. It is an architectural rebellion against the standard Balinese villa, offering a playful, narrative-driven experience that feels like a journey back in time to the age of discovery.
