Established in 1874 and moved to its current landmark neoclassical mansion in 1885, the "GB" is the living heart of Athenian history. Located directly across from Syntagma Square, the building was designed by architect Theophil Hansen and has served as a temporary home for heads of state, the headquarters of the Greek government during WWII, and a refuge for the elite for over a century.
