Overview

Originally a 15-hectare garden gifted to Prince Mamoun in the 18th century, La Mamounia opened as a hotel in 1923 and quickly became an icon of Art Deco-Moorish style. It was the lifelong muse of Winston Churchill, who called it "the most lovely spot in the whole world." Following a major 2020 renovation by Jouin Manku, the hotel has preserved its historic soul—characterized by its signature "Mamounia" scent and majestic columns—while introducing a fresh, contemporary pulse. It remains the undisputed cultural heart of Marrakech, where the city’s history and high society converge.
