Overview

Commissioned by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Royal Mansour was built without a budget to showcase the very best of Moroccan craftsmanship. Completed in 2010, the hotel is a "Medina within a Medina," consisting of 53 private three-story riads rather than guest rooms. Over 1,200 master artisans spent years hand-carving the "zellij" tiles, cedar wood, and intricate plasterwork. The architecture is famous for its hidden service tunnels, which allow staff to provide impeccable service without ever being seen in the guest areas, maintaining the illusion of living in a private palace.

Why We Recommend

Commissioned by King Mohammed VI, this is essentially a "Medina within a Medina." We recommend it for its unique concept: guests stay in private three-story riads, served by a hidden underground tunnel system that ensures the world-famous Moroccan hospitality feels like magic.
