Overview

Founded in 1995 by Sonu Shivdasani and Eva Malmström, Soneva Fushi is the birthplace of the "Slow Life" and "No News, No Shoes" movement in the Maldives. Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the resort was built with a radical commitment to environmental preservation, using sustainable woods and organic shapes that mimic the surrounding jungle. It broke the Maldivian mold by focusing on massive, rustic-chic villas tucked into the island’s interior forest rather than just overwater structures, proving that true luxury could be found in a return to nature and a "Robinson Crusoe" lifestyle.
